What does Family Inclusion Network Do?
Family Inclusion Network Australia is committed to working towards a respectful and inclusive system between Child Protection, parents, grandparents, significant others, and the community as key stakeholders. We aim to ensure children’s best interests are considered and Family is always First.
Who is the Family Inclusion Network?
Family Inclusion Network Australia is an umbrella organisation for the various Family Inclusion Networks around the country. FINA aims to represent member Family Inclusion Network organisations from states and territories when making submissions or comments to Commonwealth, State or Territory governments or the media regarding child protection policy, related issues, and practices.
FINA aims to support and promote the joint interests of children, their parents and family members when a child or children are in out-of-home care or are at risk of being removed to out-of-home care due to, but not limited to poverty, destitution, homelessness, sickness, disability, substance use, mental health issues, age and/or a criminal record. Volunteer
How can you help?
Become a volunteer or member in your state. FIN Australia values the efforts of volunteers around Australia. We are always looking for volunteer advocates to support families that are involved in Child Protection. At the moment, we are mostly limited to the area each office is situated in, however are always looking for people to assist in other areas.
Some FIN’s offer training to people looking to become different types of advocates. We value the life experience of people and are more than happy to have parent peers supporting other parents.
If this is something that interests you, please contact the FIN in your state.
